  8. played wide receiver and defensive back
  9. because his older brother Byron was a tail-
  10. back and Barry didnΓÇÖt want to compete with
  11. him. Even after Byron had graduated, the
  12. coaches were afraid that because of his
  13. size, Barry might get hurt. He didnΓÇÖt become
  14. the starting tailback until the fourth game of
  15. his senior season! Then Barry made up for
  16. the lost time. He rushed for 274 yards in 
  17. that game and for more than 1,000 yards 
  18. in the five remaining games, to finish 
  19. the season with a school record
